Occupational
Therapy
The goal of OT is to facilitate and assist persons with disability
to achieve independent function through the application of activity,
adaptation, assistive devices, splints/orthotics, etc. The rehabilitation
process is achieved in conjunction with other medical care and direction.
As a member
of the patients medical team, the Occupational Therapist provides
treatment, education and direction for work, self-care, leisure,
and prevention of injury.
Hand Therapy
Hand Therapy is the advanced training and application of therapy
theory, intervention and techniques specific for hand injuries and
function. The application of biomechanical principles, ergonomics,
medical rehabilitation, physical agents, and functional task analysis
ensures a comprehensive program for patient wellness and return
of independence.
Home Treatment Program
As part
of the comprehensive program, we provide home site evaluations for
assessment of accessibility, self-care, independence in home management,
and adaptations. Home-based treatment programs can be developed
for those persons who are not able to attend a clinic-based program.
Work Site, Ergonomic & Return to Work Programs
Work
injury prevention and returning an injured worker to full employment
may require adaptation of either the work environment or process.
Our experienced staff of therapists are available for evaluation
and consultation. We can provide the employer with education and/or
